Home WhatsApp Book Contact Tips
Doctors have been consulting their patients over the phone in recent months and are expected to continue to do so. However, dental clinics have started to reopen with strict measures in place. So here are a few things to keep in mind while visiting your dentist post lockdown –

1.       Take A Prior Appointment – Avoid walking-in at your dentist’s clinic without a prior appointment. Typically fix a time slot and arrive just in time to avoid unnecessary contact with other patients.

2.       Changes At The Waiting Area – This pandemic has inscribed one thing on our minds and that is social distancing. Dental clinics are typically confined spaces with multiple people in it. You might be asked a series of screening questions and checked for your temperature after arrival. This is a mandatory process for most of the clinics to ensure your safety along with others.

3.       Change In The Dental Procedures – Even though your treatment will remain the same, the processes followed for those will have added precautionary measures. For instance, both the doctor and their assistants would wear PPE for avoiding aerosol transmission. You may be asked to wear protective gloves and shoes yourself. You will be provided with 0.2 povidone-iodine mouthwash to significantly reduce the oral load. You might also be asked to wear a disposable gown before the start of the procedure.

4.       Communicate Properly – It is more important than ever to communicate effectively with your dentist. You should let them know how exactly you have been dealing with your minor dental problems during the lockdown and what medications are you taking. Also, ensure you don’t forget to take your past dental records during the visit to make it easier for the doctor.

5.       Mutual Cooperation – We can’t stress it enough that these are trouble times. It is important to maintain your safety and also look out for others. These procedures and protocols can be tedious and frustrating at times. However, it is important to keep in mind that those protocols are for everyone’s safety and cooperate with the support staff at the clinic.
